COVID-19 Protocols

The Jim Rowland River Valley Run is on for 2020! We have verbally discussed our plans with the Arkansas Department of Health and have written approval to implement certain protocols relating to the COVID-19 guidelines to provide our participants a safe event. We strongly encourage each runner to read over these protocols prior to the race. We also strongly encourage everyone to remain social distanced throughout the entirety of the event. Due to the need to pre-package runner packets, the registration deadline is end of day, Saturday October 31^th, 2020. Please note that there will be NO packet pickup or registration on Race Day, November 7^th, 2020. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at fcarvr@fca.org.

Packet Pickup

Protocols:

• Thursday, November 5th from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
• Friday, November 6th, from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
• Location: Grace Fellowship Church - 10303 State Highway 45 Fort Smith, AR 72916
• Packets will include everything needed for the race (t-shirt, bibs, face masks, etc.)
• Packet pickup will be drive-thru only.
• Packets will be prepared and packaged ahead of time
• Participants will be handed packets through vehicle windows

Race Day

Protocols:

• Each participant is encouraged to wear their face coverings.
• Hand sanitizer will be available.
• To encourage social distancing, participants will be divided into groups of 18-25 with multiple waves at the starting line.
• Please be mindful of social distancing while on the course.
• There will be signs for entrances and exits to encourage social distancing.
• Participants are highly encouraged to bring their own hydration and fuel.
• Self-serve water stations featuring water bottles will be placed throughout the course.
• There will be no food tent, however, snack bags and drinks will be available post race.
• There will be no awards ceremony at the conclusion of the race.
• Participants will receive a finishing medal once they cross the finish line. Place prizes will be mailed out on a later date.
• There will be no Timing TV. Please do not approach the timing area.
